Gifts abound at local arts and crafts fairs this weekend, so get an early start on all your Christmas and Hanukkah presents! Check out all the holiday fairs to choose from and don’t forget it’s Daylight Saving weekend, too, so turn back the clocks before you go to bed on Saturday night!

IF YOU BUILD IT…
Welcome to the kids’ zone where second through sixth graders can discover their inner architects. They’ll build and construct different designs using a variety of materials including Keva planks, Lincoln logs, K’nex and Magnatiles.

LONE TREE ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR
This fine arts and craft show features lots of holiday decorations and ornaments, as well as other unique hand-crafted items to purchase for gifts. Sponsored by The Finishing Touch, this is its 24th annual showcase.

COMEDIAN PAUL CORDOZO
Paul Cordozo works comedy clubs all over the county and has been a featured performer on BET. Don’t miss this funny hometown humor man, back by popular demand. This event is suitable for adults, 18 and over. Come early for cocktails and art at the Center’s First Friday event beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Deco Lounge.

30 PLAYS IN 60 MINUTES!
Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind first opened in 1988 and is still playing today as the longest-running show in Chicago history. This raucous experiment presents “30 Plays in 60 Minutes,” with each two-minute play performed in random order with an interactive audience. An onstage 60-minute timer keeps everything to time. This is a witty collection of comic, tragic, political, personal and abstract plays. Ready, set, GO!

CASTLE ROCK SENIORS’ CRAFT FAIR!
Need Christmas or Hanukkah gifts? The Senior Center of Castle Rock is hosting a huge craft fair at the Fairgrounds with a variety of artisans and vendors displaying and selling handcrafted jewelry, ceramics, apparel, pottery, florals, candles, soaps, foods, spices and more. There will be a wreath auction and a silent auction, plus enter to win door prizes and raffle giveaways, including an iWatch!  (This ain’t your grandma’s craft fair!) With concessions on site, admission is free but guests are encouraged to bring canned food items to donate to the Douglas-Elbert food bank.

HIGHLANDS RANCH JEWELRY AND GIFTS FAIR
It’s never too early to start thinking about buying gifts for the holidays and at the 10th Annual Jewelry and Holiday Gift Fair you’ll find everything from home decor and jewelry to food, holiday ornaments and more. Over 125 exhibitors offer plenty to look at and fall in love with!

A NIGHT IN NASHVILLE
Boasting hundreds of recordings, Byron Hill, Roxie Dean and John Ford Coley, all successful country artists in their own right, will present a night of songs and stories. Hill’s 1982 hit written for George Strait, “Fool Hearted Memory”, Dean’s Grammy-nominated “When I Think About Angels” for Jamie O’Neil, and Coley’s platinum-selling “I’d Really Love to See You Tonight” will all be part of the evening’s offerings. An acoustic, intimate concert with three powerhouse singer-songwriters.

FAIRGROUNDS HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR
Get a jump on your holiday shopping with all sorts of hand-crafted items from local artists and artisans. At this fair, they’ll even wrap your purchases for holiday gift-giving. Kids can buy gifts that won’t break their piggy banks or make craft gifts on site for friends, siblings or mom and dad. Along with entertainment, homemade goodies, and pictures with Santa, there’ll be opportunities to win Douglas Dollars which spend like cash at the crafters’ booths. Best of all, you will be supporting parenting education in Douglas County. Sponsored by the Douglas County Parenting Coalition.
