Happy New Year from Crystal Valley!

This is the weekend to watch the shenanigans of everybody’s favorite ogre, revel in the sounds of a local orchestra, or toast the New Year at one of umpteen parties counting down to 2017 in Castle Rock and beyond!

SING ALONG WITH SHREK!

The DreamWorks animated film Shrek: The Musical features a lovable ogre in an entertaining performance with other charming characters singing songs like Donkey Pot Pie and Don’t Let Me Go. Shrek sets off on a journey with his best friend, a wise-cracking Donkey to rescue a spirited princess and save the day!

ROCK THOSE SKATES!

LIGHT SHOW ON THE FARM!

This will be your last chance to see the spectacular lights, animal and insect light sculptures, a magical enchanted forest, with lights synchronized to music. You can warm up along the way in a toasty hut, swing some holiday light-up sticks and have the time of your lights!

NOON YEAR’S EVE!

The library’s the place to be on New Year’s Eve day for activities including hat decorating, a noon year’s eve cookie toast and a large balloon drop as everybody counts down to Noon Year’s Eve!  All ages welcome!

ZOO YEAR’S EVE!

New YearEnjoy a perfect New Year’s Eve celebration for the entire family at the Denver Zoo. With a special New Year’s Eve countdown at 9 p.m., your little ones will be able to enjoy the holiday but still get home in time for bed. Activities are included with Zoo Lights admission.

CASTLE ROCKIN’ NEW YEAR’S EVE!

Castle Rock residents wait all year long for Festival Park to be transformed into a spectacular light and sound show! Spend the day in downtown Castle Rock then at 5:00 p.m., and at the top of the next two hours, a dazzling multimedia light show will ring out the old and ring in the new!

COLORADO SPRINGS PHILHARMONIC

Celebrate the coming New Year at this song-filled New Year’s Eve celebration performed by the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Some of the orchestra’s most popular vocalists return to light up the night with Broadway hits and classic American songs and favorites from Wicked, Cats, and Victor Victoria.

PARTY AT THE BROADMOOR

New YearThe Broadmoor’s legendary New Year’s Eve Gala is an elegant affair in Broadmoor Hall, featuring a gourmet four-course dinner accompanied by music from The Broadmoor Pops Orchestra featuring Nelson Rangell, Peter Olstad and singer Jill Carr. They’ll be singing pop favorites from Frank Sinatra to Pink. After dinner, guests will “twist and shout” with the Fab 4, a popular Beatles tribute band. Rock around the clock then at midnight, welcome 2017 with champagne and a balloon drop!

5K FUN RUN
