You’ll be glad to know that here in Crystal Valley, the Douglas County School District is consistently ranked one of the best school districts in Colorado. Students living in Crystal Valley attend these neighborhood schools: South Ridge Elementary, World Compass Academy, Mesa Middle School, and Douglas County High School.
South Ridge Elementary hosts kindergarten through sixth grade, and is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) school. The IB program aims to develop “inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.” The IB mission translates into a set of learning outcomes referred to as the IB Learner Profile.
Mesa Middle School (grades 7-8) continues the International Baccalaureate (IB) system from elementary school, and equips students for further learning at Douglas County High School.
Douglas County High School (grades 9-12), adopted the International Baccalaureate (IB) program in 1996. It serves a magnet program within the district and is one of few IB schools in the world that offers art, music, dance and theatre.
World Compass Academy is a charter school for kids in pre-school through fifth grade. With a philosophy of “Go anywhere, do anything,” the school equips students to go anywhere in the world with the foundational skills needed for success. World Compass Academy offers mastery-based learning, a challenging, research-based curriculum, foreign language education and a gifted and talented program.
