Festive Fun This Weekend Near Crystal Valley!

It’s a weekend of festivities in and around Castle Rock. From a Vintage Market and BalloonFest to brewery tours with craft beer on tap, you’ll find lots of things to see, buy and do, starting tomorrow!

Friday, August 26

FREE FITNESS FRIDAYS!
Join the free fitness fun with an hour of Chisel (a workout with weights) for a strength training workout that’ll challenge all your muscles! Each week focuses on a different fitness format and all classes are appropriate for all fitness levels. Children are also welcome!

COMIC CON COMES TO THE SPRINGS!
It’s the comic art convention this weekend in Colorado Springs! This three-day event will feature top illustrators and celebrities from all genres of TV, movies and cartoons, including some of the top names in the comic art community. Check the schedule for event times and ticket information.

VINTAGE MARKET DAYS!
Vintage Market Days is an upscale vintage-inspired market featuring original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade treasures, home décor, outdoor furnishings, seasonal plantings and more. The market is a three-day event and a unique opportunity for vendors to display their talents and passions in different venues.

CONCERT: THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND
It’s a celebration concert featuring the award-winning Marshall Tucker Band belting out some of their well-loved 70s hits like Heard it in a Love Song, Fire on the Mountain, and Can’t You See. The band records on its own Ramblin’ Record Label and continues to release new material to entertain longtime and freshly-minted fans.

The evening will begin with Denver’s own Independent Music Award Nominee Brad Lee Schroeder, a high energy rock and roller who will get you up on your feet to open this can’t-miss show!

WALK AND BIKE HISTORIC TOUR
Take part in a biking or walking tour of historic Castle Rock, with pit-stops to hear stories and anecdotes about the history of downtown. The tour starts at the Courtyard on Perry Street and ends at the Castle Rock Museum, 420 Elbert Street. Biking and group tours are available by reservation, call or email to save your space.

UP AND UP AND AWAY!
BalloonFest Weekend FestivitiesAs the sun rises this weekend, come to the festival and watch the hot air balloons achieve lift off! The Rocky Mountain BalloonFest will feature balloon flights as well as fine art, crafts, homegrown products, antiques, collectibles and food booths. There will be activities for the kids and other special attractions like the Balloon Glow garden that glows as the sun begins to set.

ALL ABOUT THE BREW
The Great Douglas County Brew Tour hosted by Douglas County Libraries (DCL) kicks off with a tour of the Lone Tree Brewing Company. During the month of September DCL partners with 10 craft breweries to promote local businesses with beer-themed author events, live music, brew-inspired crafts, and—of course—a craft beer tapping.
