Christmastime in Castle Rock

No matter how different this year is, it’s still Christmastime, and there are still plenty of ways to enjoy this very special time of year. Some of the best ways to get in a festive mood are also the simplest—like driving around to see the area’s Christmas lights. There are also a number of special online holiday opportunities to get you in the holiday spirit!

LAST CHANCE FOR SANTA PHOTOS 
Santa’s got a lot to do tonight, so if you want to take the kids to see him, this is really your last chance! Kids will sit next to Santa with a plexiglass wall between them—but it doesn’t show up in the professional photos.

CABARET CHRISTMAS ONLINE
You can get a fun dose of holiday spirit while helping out the performers who would normally be entertaining you in person this holiday season. These original holiday productions feature talented performers from the Front Range Theatre Company, bringing some Christmas magic right into your home! All proceeds will go to the Denver Actors Fund to help artists who have found themselves out of work and in need during the holiday season.

ENCORE SOULFUL CHRISTMAS
So amazing the first time it streamed that it’s coming back for an encore! Holidaze Harmony is an evening of soulful interpretations of holiday classics combined with the banter and fun of a variety show, and it’s available to stream into your home. 

Terron Brooks and Kamilah Marshall are acclaimed Broadway stars and recording artists who star in this concert event filmed at the Garry Marshall Theatre. Don’t miss this energetic and fun holiday special!

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN CASTLE ROCK
This is a Christmas lights display worth driving by! A local DJ and sound company have made over 12,000 lights dance to holiday music that you can stream through your car radio when you drive by.  If an elf comes out with candy canes and you would like one, just roll down your window and let him know!

SKATE THROUGH CHRISTMAS
Work off those Christmas cookies while enjoying some time with family and friends! Ice skating is great exercise and a chance to get the entire family away from the screens for a while.

HOLIDAY LIGHTS FROM A DISTANCE
A wonderful Christmas tradition is to load the family into the car and drive around looking at holiday lights. You won’t be disappointed when you make the drive to Schweiger Ranch, with one of the best FREE holiday lights display in the area! Since the Ranch property is temporarily closed due to COVID-19, you can view the display from the parking lot and along the trail.

A SPECIAL HOUSE DISPLAY
It may not be on the neighborhood house decorations map, but this house is so special it deserves a mention all its own! For several years, this Christmas Light Display in Franktown has been delighting all who have made the trip to see it. You can tun in to the synchronized music on your radio dial, and there are multiple programs to watch. After viewing the light show, continue your adventure through the new trail through Frosty’s Forest.

SHOSHANA BEAN’S ONLINE CONCERT
Sing Your Hallelujah is a nostalgic event combining song, dance, and conversation like the old Christmas television specials you remember from childhood. This amazing singer and entertainer performed her concert in the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, collaborating with special guests. You’ll hear modern versions of holiday classics when the concert streams online in your home!
