Father’s Day Brunch, Car Show and Music!

This weekend you may find yourself hopping from one free concert or summer festival to the next! All styles of music are in town—from Buckstein’s country rock to oldies tribute bands to the legendary 80s stadium rock band, 38 Special! It’s also Father’s Day weekend, so treat dad to the Castle Rock Car Show or maybe a special brunch at Cherokee Castle! 

TODAY/TONIGHT, Thursday, June 14

FREE ROCK CONCERT IN PARKER!
Come out for some tunes in the sun at the state-of-the-art Discovery Park amphitheater! Rock out to Last Men on Earth, one of Northern Colorado’s most popular bands, playing a mixture of classic hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Whether harmonizing sweetly on Seven Bridges Road or pounding out the guitar rock hits from Bon Jovi, Guns and Roses, Boston, Rush and many others, Last Men on Earth will keep you entertained with their incredibly diverse set-list.

While you’re in the park, enjoy monumental art pieces, an interactive water fountain for the kids, and more! Feel free to bring your picnic baskets, lawn chairs, and beach blankets. Food trucks will also be on-site during the concert. Bring the whole family for fun night of FREE entertainment!

FREE BUCKSTEIN CONCERT AT HIGHLANDS RANCH
This is a country music concert for people who don’t even like country music! A Colorado native, Buckstein appeared in the finale of American Idol in Season Five, and the entire country was mesmerized by his powerhouse performance. He balances a kind of traditional country that reminds you of a modern-day John Wayne with something electric, something that grabs you and makes you look up. Maybe that’s why people who don’t like country music like him.

Pack a picnic and come out to Highlands Ranch to enjoy great FREE music at the park. Parking in the area is limited, so come early! You can bring your own refreshments, or enjoy some shaved ice by Kona Ice.

GO TO A COMEDY SHOW – OR BE IN ONE!
If you’ve ever watched a recording of a standup comedy show on TV, you know the reaction shots of audience members are sometimes just as entertaining as the comedian! This is your chance to be one of those audience members, when the Saturday night shows of Chad Daniels’ hilarious routine will be recorded for his next one-hour special!

An appealing performer with a devilishly naughty nature, Chad Daniels pushes the boundaries while continuing to be charming. He’s uncompromisingly honest as he makes jokes about his experiences with marriage and children. Daniels has been featured on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, Live at Gotham, The Late Late Show with Craig Kilbourn and Craig Ferguson, and Conan. Most recently he appeared in the documentary I Need You to Kill with Tom Segura and Pete Lee.

MISS COLORADO PAGEANT
Before there is a Miss America Pageant, each state must choose a contestant to send to the national competition, and this is where it happens for Colorado! Be a part of history as you watch the 2018 Miss Colorado contestants compete in areas of talent, poise and grace for the honor of representing our state at the iconic Miss America Pageant! The competition will be divided among three nights, with Saturday night as the grand finale!

FINAL WEEKEND FOR DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS!
Based on the movie with the same name, this hilarious musical comedy is about two con men preying on rich heiresses in a French Riviera town that isn’t big enough for the two of them. A delightfully jazzy score accompanies the escalating antics of the two con men as they each try to con $50,000 from the same young woman! Winner of 11 Tony Awards, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will leave you breathless from laughing. Recommended for ages 16+ due to adult language and humor.

TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE BAR
Star-gazing at an outdoor party with live music—what could be better? When all of the above occurs at a castle! The Cherokee Ranch & Castle presents a stellar show—just by looking up! The Castle Pines Astronomy Club will have two telescopes for viewing the night sky from the castle tower, and a cash bar will be on hand for libations and delicious bites. Topping it off is a live guitarist to set the mood! Reservations are required, and all guests must be 21 and over.

10TH ANNUAL CAR SHOW AND STREET PARTY
You know summer is really here when Castle Rock breaks out their annual street party and concert, followed by the big car show everyone waits for all year! Mingle with your friends and neighbors at a family-friendly FREE party with live music, food, and drinks in downtown Castle Rock on Friday evening, then return on Saturday morning for the spectacular auto show, featuring everyone’s dream cars!
