Dance the night away under the stars — to the music you love — at an outdoor summer concert this weekend! From rock and radio hits to Western swing and Grammy-award-winning country, there’s a band in town that will have you up and on your feet! And just for kids—don’t miss the magical Unicorn Festival, or for young comedians, Kid Skits Live, a kids version of Saturday Night Live! It’s all happening near Castle Rock!

RADIO HITS IN A FREE CONCERT!
The Discovery Park FREE Summer Concert Series continues with The Radio Band, a talented bunch of local musicians and singers who can replicate nearly anything you hear on the radio! You pick the station, they’ll play the hits! Featuring the energetic vocal talent of Hipster Mama’s co-founder, Turi Gustafson, rocker extraordinaire Thomas Breslin and the sultry powerhouse Miss Ellice Whittington, The Radio Band covers a wider range of music than any band you’ve ever seen!

FREE ROCK CONCERT WITH FLIPSIDE!
Celebrate the official start of summer with a FREE rockin’ outdoor concert at Highlands Ranch! FlipSide is the best in-your-face dance music band in Denver, playing hits from the 70s to present day! If you can dance to it, FlipSide can play it! From KC and the Sunshine Band to Run DM, Black-Eyed Peas and Bruno Mars, FlipSide can get in the groove! This versatile band can also rock out, playing hits from Steve Miller and Van Halen to ZZ Top! So pack a picnic and head on over to the park in Highlands Ranch!

BEST FEMALE COMIC – JESSICA KIRSON
Powerhouse comedian Jessica Kirson puts on a show worthy of the titles “Best Female Comic” (MAC) and “Best Stand-up Comedian in NYC” (Nightlife). You may be a fan of her comedic character videos on the Youtube channel, The Jessy K Show, or her hilarious podcast, Fat Pig, about extreme food issues.

Kilson is featured in Robert DeNiro’s movie, The Comedian, and appeared in Nick Cannon’s film, School Dance, starring Jim Breuer and George Lopez. She’s the brains behind the prank calls on The Howard Stern Show and has been featured on AXS’s Gotham Comedy Live, Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, NBC’s Last Comic Standing, twice on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and on ABC’s The View.

TUNES ON THE TERRACE

Big Band tunes fill the night air in this delightful concert under the stars! H2 Big Band is a world-class ensemble of 17 musicians under the co-leadership of trumpeter Al Hood and pianist Dave Hanson, playing the distinctive sounds of Count Basie. The concert features big band and ensemble jazz classics from the 30s and 40s, with talented musicians playing excellent and energetic arrangements! 

In the event of inclement weather, every effort will be made to continue the performance indoors. Patrons will be notified via email should the venue change.

PIANO MUSIC AT SUNSET!
More than just another beautiful sunset in Colorado, this special evening with Peter Kater is a chance to enjoy a prolific pianist and composer as he entertains with his original contemporary instrumental music! The setting is an intimate outdoor venue at the breathtaking Cherokee Ranch, where Kater will perform from his vast repertoire of television and film productions, Broadway plays, contemporary jazz, and solo piano work.

UNICORN FESTIVAL
Delight the fantasy-lovers in your family with a day at the Unicorn Festival! Who can resist a day filled with unicorn rides, swimming mermaids, a story-time cottage, a castle maze, a dragon slide obstacle course, and a chance to meet beloved princesses and wandering fairies? This festival inspires the imagination with all things mythical!

KID SKITS LIVE
Come out to watch the next generation of “Weekend Update” anchors, comedy sketch players and bigger-than-life personalities with a special kids version of Saturday Night Live! Your own resident comedian may even be inspired to join the next troupe!

All classes are taught by Chris Starkey of Starkey Productions, so if you know any children — aged 8 – 15 — who have the skills to be part of the troupe, they are welcome to apply.

I LOVE THE 90S CONCERT
If you remember Dancing Baby Cha-Cha (the original viral GIF), Pop-Up Video, and using 1-800-COLLECT to make a call on a PAY PHONE, chances are good that you were also a fan of Vanilla Ice, Salt-N-Pepa, Montell Jordan, Biz Markie, Rob Base, and DJ Kool.
