It’s Douglas County Fair and Rodeo Weekend!

The weekend you’ve been waiting for all summer is finally here—the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo! Bring the family to a multitude of exciting events at the fairgrounds, including rodeos, live entertainment, a carnival for the kids, and much, much more! There’s something for everyone at the fair! Other outdoor concerts are also in full-swing all around the Castle Rock area, along with outdoor movies and theatre performances, so get out there and enjoy summer at its peak!

LANDSCAPE MAKEOVER CONTEST!
If you’re tired of pampering your lawn more than you pamper yourself, maybe you’re in need of a water-wise lawn makeover! Castle Rock Water is giving away an $8,000 front yard landscape makeover this summer! If you want to include less turf and more water-wise plants into your landscape, enter this contest!

The winner will receive a personalized ColoradoScape—a team of experts will transform your water-thirsty yard into a vibrant, colorful and seasonal landscape that is more conducive to our Castle Rock environment. To enter, post a 15- to 30-second video about “why your yard sucks” on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, using the tag @CRgov.

BOOGIE MACHINE IN THE PARK
If you have more of a Groove Thing going, escape the Western Wave that’s consuming the county and head out to the FREE concert in Parker, where Boogie Machine will have you up on your feet!

Decked out with giant hair and custom retro-style costumes, Boogie Machine is a four-piece 70s disco tribute band, playing all your favorite disco era hits!

XTREME BULLS AT THE DOUGLAS COUNTY FAIR!

Begin Douglas County Fair Weekend with a bang! Sometimes called Rodeo’s most dangerous event, Xtreme Bulls is JUST BULLS—and you won’t want to miss it! This ticketed event showcases the PRCA’s top bull riders and some of the rankest bulls the world has to offer!

DOUGLAS COUNTY FAIR AND RODEO
There’s something for everyone at the action-packed Douglas County Fair and Rodeo, with events happening every day through Sunday! Grounds Admission prices vary by day (with Thursday and Sunday FREE), and include activities, entertainment, Vintage Marketplace and Discovery Ranch, unless indicated as a Ticketed Event. For children ages 7 and under, Grounds Admission is free every day!

The kids won’t want to miss the carnival, mutton-busting, and Discovery Ranch where they can become a farmer for a day! There’s even a cricket-race (with real live crickets) and a goat-costume contest! Events for adults include a blind-tractor driving contest and plenty of musical entertainment, with several acts scheduled each day. And the highlight for all ages is the pie-eating contest! POLICE TRIBUTE BAND AT THE FAIR!
Message In A Bottle is Denver’s ultimate Police cover band, doing justice to the music of Sting, Stewart Copeland, and Andy Summers. Enjoy this concert at the fairgrounds as part of your Grounds Admission ticket, and give your kids a taste of what REAL music sounds like!

PATRIOT RODEO
This special ticketed event is a rodeo performance to honor our veterans and military men and women. If you are active or retired military, show your Military ID and receive one free Rodeo Admission for this performance only. MOVIE IN THE PARK
Bring a blanket and your family and friends! Nothing is more fun than an outdoor movie! For the month of August, Highlands Ranch will be screening a different movie every week in beautiful Civic Green Park.

This week’s feature is Mary Poppins Returns, the delightful sequel to the Disney classic which picks up with a grown-up Jane and Michael and Michael’s children. Emily Blunt is charming and pitch-perfect as the contemporary Poppins!

The stage production of The Full Monty is based on the movie by the same name. When six unemployed steel workers decide to make some extra cash by becoming strippers after they witness their wives’ enthusiasm over a group of Chippendales’ dancers, the result is outrageous hilarity! These middle-aged, out-of-shape men respond to their dreary circumstances with a whole lot of heart and so much optimism that you’ll be rooting for them the whole time! 

This hilarious production has adult themes with strong language and situations that might be found in an R-rated film.

OAKED AND SMOKED – AMERICAN WHISKEY AND BBQ!
Treat yourself to an epic afternoon of whiskey sampling, barbecue and bluegrass! This festive outdoor event takes place on the back lawn of the Eastridge Recreation Center, where you will sample American whiskeys from all over the United States including bourbons, ryes, single barrels, and other assorted styles paired with delicious grilled and barbecued delights.

Enjoy live music by Narrow Gauge, performed throughout the afternoon. You must be 21+ to attend. Ticket price includes unlimited half ounce samples of whiskey, one full BBQ meal, and a souvenir tasting glass.

PRO RODEO HONORING HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES!
The Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame newly-inducted members will be special guests of this no-holds-barred professional rodeo at the Douglas County Fair! This ticketed event features contestants from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association who will be  bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle-bronc riding, tie-down roping, team roping and bull riding! The rodeo will also host barrel racers from the Women’s Pro Rodeo Association.

GARY ALLAN CONCERT AT THE FAIR
This headlining fair concert features the maverick country music artist Gary Allan, who has won over fans and critics alike with his signature blend of smoldering vocals, rebellious lyrics and raucous live performances. His albums have topped the Billboard Charts in both Country and Pop, with smash hits including Her Man, Tough Little Boys, Nothing On but the Radio, and Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain). This is a ticketed event that requires additional ticket purchase.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST AND DUTCH OVEN COOK-OFF
Start the day with a morning of delicious food at the fair! Bring the whole family for the FREE Pancake Breakfast! And remember—Grounds Admission is also free for everyone today!

Once you’ve finished eating, head over to the Dutch Oven Cook-Off to see who wins the coveted title!

FARMERS’ MARKET IN FESTIVAL PARK
It’s the height of the summer season and time to pick some of Colorado’s best bounty for your table! Your family will appreciate the fresh-from-the-garden goodness of a wide range of produce, as well as all kinds of homemade goodies including breads, pastas, sauces, and sweets! Come down to Festival Park in Castle Rock—and bring plenty of shopping bags!

A BEE-UTIFUL FESTIVAL! 
One of the most valuable and amazing creatures to share our world is the humble honeybee—join the Town of Parker to celebrate all things honey in this fun and informative family event!

This FREE celebration gives you and your kids the chance to see hives close up and learn how bees make honey. There will be honeybee crafts and the opportunity to try on a beekeeper’s suit! Plus learn all about making your yard bee-friendly (it will help your garden grow!) and how to take up the fascinating hobby of beekeeping yourself.
