Paul Reiser, Josh Turner and Pet Fashion!

A pet fashion show is the highlight of the annual Barks & Brews event in Castle Rock and is your chance to mingle with other animal-lovers and enjoy craft beer samples! Also appearing this weekend are country music star Josh Turner and renowned comedian and actor Paul Reiser (Mad About You, Stranger Things) presenting an evening of comedy. And there are plenty of local theatre productions suitable for the entire family!

SHAKESPEARE AT THE RANCH!
You will be amazed by the talents of the actors who portray characters from all 37 plays by Shakespeare in this mash-up of the Bard’s works! From Romeo and Juliet to A Midsummer’s Night Dream to Hamlet, they all have a say in The Complete Work of William Shakespeare Abridged! Don’t miss this hysterical, madcap roller-coaster ride, presented at an historic Western ranch! 

Before and after the show, you can explore the lifestyles and homes of the Pikes Peak Region’s early inhabitants at Rock Ledge Ranch, where the spirited history of the West comes to life.

HARD-DRIVING COMIC DEAN DELRAY
Pulling from a lifetime of colorful experience, biker Dean Delray brings a no-holds-barred perspective to his comedy routine. Before delivering hard-hitting stand-up comedy to enthusiastic crowds, Delray was a touring musician, opening for Tom Petty, Lenny Kravitz and The Black Crowes. 

Delray’s comedy is 100% authentic, if not a little raunchy. His delivery runs the gamut from soft-spoken subtlety, to wide-grinned court jester style antics to loud volume animation. You won’t want to miss this bigger-than-life comedian who generously offers an evening of inviting, subversive humor.

AN EVENING WITH PAUL REISER
Although he is best-known for his role in the long-running 1990s sitcom, Mad About You, Paul Reiser is recognized more recently for his role in Netflix’s Stranger Things as Dr. Owens, a character the Duffer brothers created with him specifically in mind. 

Reiser is also a New York Times best-selling author with his books Couplehood, Babyhood, and Familyhood. As a comedian, he was voted one of Comedy Central’s “Top 100 Comedians of All Time.” This is your chance to catch the warmth and wit of this iconic entertainer as he takes the stage with his trademark humorous take on the adventures of life!

GEOLOGY HIKE WITH EXPERTS!
If you’d like to dig deep into the history and science of the area, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to explore Cherokee Ranch with Dr. Bob Raynolds, a geologist from Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and scientists from the Cherokee Ranch Science Institute.

The day will include highlights of the local and regional geology, with spectacular views, recent archaeology discoveries including a visit to an Indian rock shelter, and local wildlife that chooses to visit us. You’ll view the geology of the Castle and grounds, Raccoon Knob, and unravel the unique history of Cherokee Mountain. Moderate to strenuous hiking is involved. This event is for ages 16 and older.

JOSH TURNER IN CONCERT
One of country music’s best-known voices, Josh Turner’s rich, deep voice and distinctive style has led to multi-platinum records and earned him a place in the Grand Ole Opry. From his 2003 platinum-selling debut Long Black Train to his most recent 2017 Billboard No. 1 release, Deep South, Turner has garnered multiple Grammy, CMA, and ACM nominations. BARKS & BREWS FASHION SHOW
What could be more fun than an evening that revolves around puppies and beer? Outlets at Castle Rock hosts the annual Barks & Brews event, where you can enjoy craft beer tastings, food truck bites and live entertainment at Colorado’s favorite pet-friendly center. 

Beers will be available for a $5 donation to the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley, and the first 50 canine attendees will be pampered with complimentary treats! Put a costume on your furry friend, and he or she will be eligible to win the Grand Prize! The Take A Bow Wow Fashion Show is the highlight of the event, and kicks off the evening, showcasing more than 10 puppies and kittens—each available for adoption—strutting their stuff alongside models wearing fashions from on-site brands.

SUNDAY DINNER IN CASTLE ROCK!
Sunday Dinner conjures up memories of a time before electronic devices, when people sat down at the table together and played games or listened to music afterwards. In that spirit, the town of Castle Rock presents a new Downtown event that features an old-fashioned family dinner with food and dessert catered from The Comforts of Home. 

Bring your family to dine at tables throughout Festival Park, under the Pavilion, and picnic-style on the park lawn. Enjoy a musical performance from Castle Rock Music students, and play lawn games throughout the park.

WIZ KHALIFA AND RAE SREMMURD AT SUMMER JAM 21!
It’s a summer party weekend with 17,000 hip-hop fans turning up at Fiddler’s Green! Multi-platinum selling, Grammy and Golden Globe nominated recording artist Wiz Khalifa burst onto the scene with mainstream success with the release of his first major label debut, Rolling Papers, in 2011.

Hits include Black and Yellow, Roll Up and No Sleep, and gave Wiz the platform to win the award for Best New Artist at the 2011 BET Awards and Top New Artist at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards. Concert lineup also includes Lil Dicky, Big Boi, BlocBoy JB, Saweetie, Kayla Rae.
