Winefest, Outdoor Movie and The Full Monty!

POSTED July 18, 2019

The music in the Castle Rock area this weekend spans decades and styles! There’s a concert for everyone, regardless of your musical preferences—you may even find yourself hopping from one concert to another. Salsa, 80s, country, old-time ballads—adults can even find musical hilarity with a local production of The Full Monty! Pack a picnic and bring the family out to the park for some musical summer fun!

Treat your young horse-lover to a hand-led pony ride! Children ages 3-10 can ride on ponies Cabo and Ziggi while their parents walk along as they enjoy the ride. Your kids will have a blast and you’ll have a great photo opportunity!

For an inspiring evening of tunes from a bygone era, this soulful crooner will have you swooning! She Rocks is an entertaining evening featuring Tara Vaughan’s vocals and piano techniques. Vaughan combines a unique and modern sensibility with the vibe of old-time music by legends like Patsy Cline and Sam Cooke. Her abilities on the piano call to mind rock greats Elton John and Carole King.

Woven together with songs and stories, She Rocks celebrates women artists and songwriters of the 1960s – 1980s. Backed by an incomparable 4-piece band, Tara Vaughan performs music from artists like Janis Joplin, Linda Ronstadt, Aretha Franklin, Blondie, Heart, and many more.

If you like your musical theatre on the raunchy side, you can’t beat this hilarious stage production based on the film with the same name! The Full Monty is about six unemployed steel workers who decide to make some extra cash by becoming strippers after they witness their wives’ enthusiasm over a group of Chippendales’ dancers.

The men are—ahem—not exactly in shape, but they do have the courage and optimism to bare it all. Their spirited response to their dreary circumstances makes this a musical with a whole lot of heart! This is definitely an adult-themed production with strong language and situations that might be found in an R-rated film.

PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue, Parker
Fri./Sat., 7:30 p.m.; Sat./Sun., 2:00 p.m.
Tickets: $29-$34
