Celebrate Parker Arts Center’s 10th Anniversary!

Celebrate 10 years of top-notch entertainment at the PACE Center with audience sing-along events and a FREE family-friendly Artival: that’s Art + Festival! Halloween happenings and fun fall festivals are also in full swing this weekend all over the Castle Rock area!

TODAY/TONIGHT, October 21

ART EXPO
Visit this juried exhibition of various forms of media from painting to drawing, watercolor, mixed media, and sculpture. You’ll have a chance to explore and discuss the artwork in the 18th Annual Lone Tree Art Expo!

HAUNTED FOREST JUNIOR
For curious kids who are not quite ready to experience the terror of the Haunted Forest, this is a chance to see the sinister scenes without the live ghouls and monsters. 

Even though monsters won’t be jumping out, it’s still a scary walk with creepy decor—so be warned! Tickets are required for guests age 15 and under. A brave adult must accompany each group of kids.

SING ALONG WITH QUEEN
How often do you get a chance to sing along with Freddie Mercury? PACE Center is celebrating their 10th Anniversary with a screening of Bohemian Rhapsody at a party with food and drinks and an invitation to sing along with the band in the movie! 

Bohemian Rhapsody is the story of Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen, who defies stereotypes and convention to become one of history’s most beloved entertainers. Enjoy the movie and sing along!

CASTLE ROCK’S GHOSTLY PAST
Sign up for this spooky walking tour in downtown Castle Rock and you’ll never look at the town the same way again! A guide from the Castle Rock museum will narrate ghostly and tragic events that happened at the Cantril School, the Old Stone Church, the B&B Café, Hangman’s Gulch and more.

Donations are encouraged and reservations are required.

FULL MOON HALLOWEEN HIKE
Just in time for Halloween, it’s a full moon hike in the backcountry! A naturalist leads this  guided tour, pointing out things in the dark that might not be visible at first glance. With flashlights off, you’ll be amazed how much is illuminated by the moon’s reflective light! This activity is recommended for ages 7+ and children must be accompanied by an adult.

HALLOWEEN FAMILY FUN
For a kid-centered fall festival, with a giant hay-bale maze that’s perfect for kids 10 and younger, check out Flat Acres Farm! It’s a non-scary Halloween experience with a petting zoo, bounce houses, and duck races.

Little ones can help to choose the perfect carving pumpkin from the pumpkin patch!

THE ORIGINAL HAUNTED MANSION
The Reinke Brothers have been frightening area residents with their one-of-a-kind haunted house for 50 years—and you can be part of the fun! Whether the Haunted Mansion is a Halloween tradition for your family or this is your first visit, get ready to be scared silly!

MAGIC OF JACK O’LANTERNS
For a truly beautiful Halloween experience, stroll through the Magic of Jack O’Lanterns! This new exhibit features 7,000 illuminated hand-carved pumpkins and larger than life pumpkin displays on outdoor trails at Hudson Gardens. You’ll see a sparkling carnival, nautical seascape, and dinosaurs and dragons illuminating the grounds of the Gardens!  Timed entry tickets must be purchased in advance.

BOYS (BAND) VS. GIRLS (BAND)
In this fun-filled musical competition, it’s Boys vs. Girls! The question is: are ultimate boy bands or legendary girl groups at the top of the charts? You decide! Representing male artists from every decade, including *NSYNC, Bruno Mars, Boyz II Men, and even the Backstreet Boys, this fantastic Boy Band will show you what they’ve got. 

On the Girl Group side, this talented group of divas will sing hits by The Supremes, Whitney Houston, Spice Girls, and Queen Bey herself. It’s a musical face-off like you’ve never seen before. It’s a high-energy, musical powerhouse competition where you decide who will take home the crown.

DUELING PIANOS SING-ALONG
It’s another sing-along celebration at the PACE Center: two talented pianists square off in a duel of musicality that you get to participate in! The pianists will take requests from the audience, then they’ll duel and feud to see who can play the fastest and the best to see who can get the audience the most involved.

You’ll get to sing along LOUD and cheer on your favorite pianist. You’ll have a chance to stand up and dance, and sing … sing … sing! There is no assigned seating for this event. There will be a combination of tables and chairs, cocktail tables, and some additional furniture in the Event Room.

SCARY HAUNTED FOREST
Discover what’s lurking behind every tree and bush in the Haunted Forest—if you dare! You’ll run into all kinds of live ghouls and goblins on this this three-quarter-mile creep through the woods. This scary Halloween event is recommended for ages 10+.

GET SCARED AT FRIGHT ACRES
The ultimate Halloween event! Colorado’s largest outdoor haunted attraction offers four uniquely terrifying experiences. This is an adult attraction and not recommended for children 12 and under.

You can visit a creepy mausoleum, Reaper’s Hollow Cemetery, the Dead End Motel, and of course, the scary woods behind the motel. Don’t pay attention to those gruesome tales about people entering and coming out possessed—or never returning at all…

COMEDIAN DAVE ATTELL
Actor, stand-up comedian, and writer Dave Attell is all over the big and small screens! He’s the host of Comedy Central’s Insomniac with Dave Attell and has appeared in the Hulu series Life & Beth, on Netflix’s Bumping Mics, and on HBO’s Crashing.

His film credits include Pootie Tang, Funny People, Scary Movie 4, Los Enchiladas, Trainwreck, and I Feel Pretty. PUMPKIN FESTIVAL
It’s not too late to get a pumpkin! Head out to the 10-acre pumpkin patch at Chatfield Farms and the kids can participate in fun activities while you peruse craft and artisan booths. 

There will be live music and other entertainment. A Corn Maze is on site and can be added for an additional $8 per person. You must purchase a ticket online for a specific date and time.

HALLOWEEN BOO-TIQUE
Here’s a way to make Halloween more sustainable! The Halloween BOOtique is your chance to find the perfect costume using a “pay what makes you happy” model. People of all ages are invited to come in and check out the selection of gently-used costumes for all ages and sizes, infant through adult.

ARTIVAL CELEBRATION
This family-fun FREE community event celebrates art in a festive setting! PACE Center’s 10th birthday party includes a Big Bubble Circus with a chance to play with bubbles! There will be balloon twisters, face painting, a meeting with Rosie the Tarantula, and more! You’ll also have an opportunity to meet characters from the upcoming Clue: The Musical.

Saturday-Sunday, October 23-24

COTTONCREEK MANOR
This is a fun haunted house with a full graveyard scene in front and a 2,000 square-foot walk through the haunted house into the back yard, covered by a tent. You’ll see everything from clowns and witches to dolls and zombies. All ages are welcome and there’s even a friendly “no-scare” hour for little ones is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

While this is a FREE attraction, donations are welcome and encouraged, with all proceeds going to the nonprofit Spirit for the Seasons. Spirit for the Seasons works to inspire young minds and spark creativity through art and technology.  Their goal is to integrate the community by providing volunteer activities for kids and teens to give back in conjunction with holiday events.

DESCENDANTS PRINCESS PARTY
Here’s a special Princess Party with a Halloween flair—these princesses are the daughters of your favorites villains—Mal and Evie! Join these Descendants for an afternoon of singing, dancing and evil laughter! Reservations include delicious snacks with refreshing beverages and a photo opportunity with Mal and Evie. Ticket price is per person (the same for children and adults). This is a child-oriented event, so Castle tours will not be conducted.
