Scavenger and Easter Egg Hunts This Weekend!

The sun has promised to come out this weekend and shine on all the outdoor events in the Crystal Valley area! Kids and adults alike can take part in scavenger or Easter Egg hunts, loaded with lots of great prizes. The backcountry also beacons—with evening hikes in dry, mild temperatures!

ALL ABOUT GIN
Meet up with your online pals at this week’s virtual Happy Hour, featuring yummy cocktails you can make from gin! Spring and summer are “gin time,” so be ready for the change of season by learning how to make a Gin Buck, Bee’s Knees, White Lady, and French 75. Don’t forget to pick up all the ingredients you’ll need from the Happy Hour shopping list!

COMEDY TIMES THREE

TWO EASTER SCAVENGER HUNTS
In addition to their popular kids’ Easter Scavenger Hunt, the Outlets at Castle Rock will be giving adults a chance to look for Easter Eggs—with prizes! The kids’ scavenger hunt can be played any time the shops are open. Just stop by Customer Service to pick up a FREE scavenger hunt card and keep your eyes open for six Easter friends on storefront windows. When you turn in your completed card, you’ll receive special gifts from Cinnabon and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Café.

The Golden Egg Contest is held Monday through Friday only, with eggs hidden all around the center. Each egg contains a prize ranging from $10-$50+! Eggs will be hidden throughout the day, not just in the morning!

KIDS NIGHT OUT
Kids will love learning how to prepare a fun internationally-inspired dinner while you get some alone time! This Asian-themed dinner is full of kid-friendly items they’ll learn how to make—and also enjoy eating!

LIVE COMEDY IS BACK! 
You’ve got to see Ben Roy in person to appreciate his energetic and hilarious rants—luckily, you can! This popular comedian was scheduled to record his fourth live stand-up album last spring when everything shut down. Now he’s back, and ready to record THIS WEEKEND at Comedy Works!

Come out to see a great show and be a part of the audience soundtrack! Roy started out in Denver and has moved on to perform at many comedy festivals. He’s been featured on HBO’s Funny as Hell series, as well as on Comedy Central’s Adam DeVine’s House Party, Corporate, @midnight, and This Is Not Happening.

GLIDER SHOWCASE
Silent and smooth-flying, gliders are the most graceful members of the aircraft family. Enjoy watching them in action, and then you’ll have the opportunity to talk with pilots and see their gliders up close.

TURKEYS OF THE BACKCOUNTRY
If you only associate turkeys with Thanksgiving, you’ve got to come out to the backcountry and see a different side of them! 

Spring is a great time to watch these amusing birds as they forage and roam the woods. Did you know turkeys are very social and curious animals? Let a naturalist tell you more about them as you (hopefully) spot a flock of them to watch!

HAZEL MILLER CONCERT
Everyone’s favorite jazz and swing band is back, with an IRL concert to celebrate spring! Hazel Miller is an authentic talent whose love for the blues, jazz, and popular music is evident. Her powerful delivery on classics as well as original songs always rocks the house!

If you would rather not attend the in-person performance, there’s also a live-streaming option. Either way, don’t miss out on this delightful concert!

THE WORLD OF PETER RABBIT
Move beyond the pages of Beatrix Potter’s classic tales about Peter Rabbit to an interactive event that lets you walk through Peter Rabbit’s world! You’ll meet the beloved characters from the story, participate in an egg hunt, take a walk through Mr. McGregor’s market, and take away some crafts and treats for more fun at home.

After you register online, you’ll be emailed your exact entry time. You should plan on 30-40 minutes to enjoy this event.

EASTER EGG HUNT
An old-fashioned outdoor Easter Egg Hunt is even more fun when it’s on a farm! When you register, your kids will be given a half-hour time slot and they’ll hunt in age-based groups of no more than six kids, so all social distancing will be observed.

When they’re done with the Easter Egg Hunt, they can meet some chickens, sheep, and a miniature horse!

FULL MOON HIKE
You’ll be amazed how much light the full moon gives off when you leave the flashlight behind and your eyes have a chance to adjust to the darkness. This fun hike with a naturalist is appropriate for adults and children ages 7 and older. Get the scoop on which animals see best in the darkness versus the daylight, and how nocturnal animals hunt and get around in the dark.
