Holiday Fun Near Crystal Valley!

Just in time for Christmas, lots of festive, family-fun activities can be found near our community of Crystal Valley! From musicals for kids to performances of The Nutcracker, it’s a good weekend to take the kids to a show! For adults, Comedy Works brings back their hilarious Holiday Roast. And the entire family will love the old-fashioned variety show, Home for the Holidays.

FREE PERFORMANCE OF ELF JR.
This adorable play is BY children FOR children! The Highlands Ranch KidStage program brings this classic holiday tale to life on stage! Young actors portray the story of Buddy the Elf as he travels through the Candy Cane Forest, past the Sea of Swirly Twirly Gumdrops, and then through the Lincoln Tunnel in search of his real family. Fun elfin refreshments will also be available for sale.

THE NUTCRACKER IN PARKER
Treat your family to the magical holiday performance that will leave visions of sugarplums dancing in everyone’s heads! The Colorado School of Dance in Parker will take you along on Clara’s adventure with the Nutcracker Prince to meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and all the dancing snowflakes! Tchaikovsky’s familiar and festive music will put everyone in the holiday spirit!

TAKE A SPIN ON THE RINK AT THE ROCK!
What could be more fun than meeting up with friends and family at Castle Rock’s hometown rink and gliding around the ice? This family-friendly activity is perfect for all ability levels—beginners can rent skates and take lessons, and old pros can lace up their own skates and dash around faster than Santa’s reindeer!

ROALD DAHL’S MATILDA THE MUSICAL
A precocious little girl named Matilda is unloved by her cruel family, but a kind teacher takes her under her wing. CARRIAGE RIDES IN FESTIVAL PARK
Capture the feeling of an old-fashioned sleigh ride—no snow required! Bring the family and meet up with friends to take a FREE carriage ride through Festival Park in Castle Rock. Along the way, enjoy carolers and other holiday activities in the area. Ho, ho, ho!

For a little comic relief this holiday season, you won’t want to miss Comedy Works’ world-famous Holiday Roast! If you’ve ever wondered what Rudolph really thinks of Santa, or if you want to see Frosty the Snowman comically kick the Nutcracker where it hurts, then you won’t want to miss this show! 

Denver’s favorite top headlining comics magically transform into your favorite holiday characters, only to verbally destroy each other on stage just to bring you holiday cheer! This show is for adults only.

SANTA’S VILLAGE AT CHATFIELD FARMS
Much closer than a trip to the North Pole—it’s Santa’s Village, complete with his workshop and real-live reindeer! The kids will love getting their picture taken with Santa and making some Christmas crafts with Mrs. Claus. Later, they can go on a hayride and see all the dazzling holiday lights or go to a movie at Santa’s cinema. Don’t miss the craft booths for those last-minute holiday gifts!

A COLORADO NUTCRACKER
This version of Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet has a decidedly Colorado feel to it! Performed by the Colorado Youth Ballet, along with the professional musicians of the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs and the Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale, this holiday tradition is a unique performance that highlights local history alongside the well-known story of Clara, the Nutcracker Prince and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

The production substitutes real Colorado families throughout history for the characters in the ballet. The story is “how it might have happened that night in Colorado.” Don’t miss this production that celebrates not only the holidays, but the local community as well!

MAKE A MERRY AND BRIGHT CENTERPIECE

UKRAINIAN FOLK NEW YEAR CELEBRATION
Start the New Year celebration a little early—with this enchanting Russian New Year’s celebration. The Ukrainian Youth Theater will take your family on a journey that’s a unique cultural experience. The performance is presented entirely in Russian, so it’s a real adventure!

The mythical heroes of the story must face magic and sorcery on their quest to save their friends. The Cheerful Hatter, the Mysterious Nymph, the Fearless Nutcracker, and many others join together in a fantastic journey through time and space!  Actors bring to life a vast array of characters including Santa Claus, Snow Maiden, Snowman, and Baba-yaga along with fairytale heroes from Ivan Tsarevitch, Koschei the Immortal, Alice In Wonderland, The Chronicles of Narnia and The Nutcracker. Don’t miss this fun-filled adventure, ideal for the entire family!

CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLES IN THE PARK
Castle Rock’s annual Christmas Eve tradition in the beautiful setting of Festival Park is a sublime way to celebrate this special night. The candle-lighting ceremony is open to everyone in the community! Bring a blanket and lawn chair, and share the festivities with your friends and neighbors.
